Dr. Simon George is a distinguished academic. He was a Professor at TA Pai Management Institute (TAPMI), Manipal, for 32 years. He served as the Dean of TAPMI for 10 years. During his Deanship, TAPMI achieved and maintained the very prestigious international AACSB accreditation.
An accomplished academic, Dr. Simon George was instrumental in introducing pioneering courses in Services Marketing and Blue Ocean Strategy, marking their first appearances in Indian academia. His teaching repertoire includes courses like Marketing Management, Consumer Behavior, Brand Management, and Services Marketing. He was instrumental in conceptualizing and launching TAPMI's health care management program in 2010.
Internationally, Dr. Simon George has taught at Oakland University in Michigan, USA. His expertise in the case method of teaching was further honed through the case method orientation program at Harvard Business School, Boston.
Dr. Simon George took leadership in establishing student and faculty exchange programs with the Asian Institute of Management, Manila, and the Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok.
He has successfully guided 7 PhD scholars at Manipal University. He has published several papers and co-authored book chapters. He is also the author of a book titled “Cases on Brand Management and Services Marketing.” His other publications include two compendiums of industry research collaborating with students. He also published a collection of research papers on “Services Process and Technology.” He has attended several international conferences.
Dr. Simon George is an excellent trainer and has conducted executive training programs (EEP) for companies such as Ashok Leyland, BPL, Infosys, ICICI, Corporation Bank, Syndicate Bank, MCF, ISRO, SAIL, Oracle, Jindal Steels, and Piaggio. He has also conducted Faculty Development programs (FDP) for several B-schools.
