The founder president of the society is His Grace the Most Rev. Dr. Joseph Mar Thoma Metropolitan.  The society has 318 members and six corporate members on its rolls.Mar Thoma Educational Technical Training and Research Center, Thiruvananthapuram is a charitable society Registered under the Travancore - Cochin literary scientific and charitable societies registration Act XII of 1955 ( Reg.  No. 1274/90 dated 6th Oct. 1990).

        The society was fortunate enough to have the blessings and guidance of the late Metropolitan of the Mar Thoma Church His Grace Most Rev. Dr. Alexander Mar Thoma Metropolitan, and the present Valiya Metropolitan His Grace the Most Rev. Dr. Philipose Mar Chrysostom Mar Thoma Metropolitan.  Late Very Rev. K. V. Jacob, Dr. P. J. Alexander I. P. S, Sri K. Varghese C. A. and Mr. P.G Zachariah as Vice – presidents, Late Dr. K. C John, Prof. G. Jacob and Sri M. Abraham, Dr V M John as secretaries and Sri. V. M George, Dr. V. M John and Sri Y. Thankachan as treasures rendered their valuable services in the past years.

     The Society is scaling new heights taking up new challenges under the commendable leadership of the present president ,His Lordship Rt. Rev.Joseph Mar Barnabas Episcopa.
The Society runs two colleges at Ayur ,namely the Mar Thoma College of Science & Technology  and the Mar Thoma Institute of Information Technology and an English Medium School with CBSE Syllabus namely, the Mar Thoma Central School.
